Born in 1972 into a family of artists, Fabienne Delacroix has evolved since her childhood, having been in contact with literature, painting, and music; this education in beauty was the cradle of her first artistic emotions.
In 1994, after receiving a master’s degree in management, she decided to devote herself entirely to painting. Publisher and art dealer Axelle Fine Arts, based in New York, started representing her exclusively, launching her career. Her original works then began to be exhibited in the largest American cities: Washington DC, New York, Seattle, Boston, San Francisco, and even New Orleans, as well as in Korea and Japan: Tokyo or Yokohama, where she has been visiting regularly.
In 1996, after the success of her first three lithographs, a range of derivative products was launched: posters, serigraphs, pigment prints, calendars, and even postcards, all distributed in galleries during international fairs or on specialized sites.
Fabienne Delacroix’s growing fame has also led to numerous prestigious commissions. Both in 1997 and 1998, New York Nick’s star John Starks asked her to create the official images for the Annual Celebrity benefit and Golf Classic. Posters created from each of the images have raised a significant amount of money for the John Stark Foundation, which benefits inner-city youth nationally.
A few years later, YES, producer of the annual celebrity AIDS benefit, Boathouse Rock, invited Fabienne Delacroix to create artwork for its Seventh Annual Celebrations in New York Central Park. The painting was auctioned off at the gala event, and the proceeds were donated to AMFAR (American Foundation for Aids Research), which supports AIDS research, education, and policy. Fabienne Delacroix was also involved in the fight against cancer in partnership with hockey players in the NHL (National Hockey League).
In 1999, Fabienne Delacroix was chosen to be the official artist for the Special Olympics World Summer Games and created three images for the event in North Carolina.
She donated a painting after the tragic events of September 11th, 2001 to benefit the New York Fire Department (FDNY), as well as supported the Fondation de France in its humanitarian aid program after the earthquake in Algeria in 2003.
Very recently, after the catastrophic fires in Australia, a painting was sold in New York and the proceeds were offered to the WWF to help the country’s animals.
In France, her paintings were used as decor for several opera recitals of the mezzo-soprano Malika Bellaribi Le Moal, which were performed year-round at the Théâtre du Renard in Paris and other large cities across France. In 2021, she created a painting for the director of the Guichet Montparnasse Theater, Annie Vergne, for the poster of an adaptation of «Une vie» de Maupassant.
After « Paris Happy Days » was published in 2017 by HC Editions, an illustrated version of “Sophie’s misfortunes” was released in December 2020 with a preface by the great, great-granddaughter of the Countess of Ségur from the same publisher. The paintings in the book were honored in 2021 with a prize at the Biennale of Illustration in Bratislava -BIB- in Slovakia.
After joining the permanent collection of the International Museum of Naive Art in Magog, Quebec in 2019, four paintings entered the Museum of Naive and Intuitive Art in Bulgaria in 2020. In 2023 two paintings entered the BIBIANA museum in Bratislava and by spring 2024, several paintings will join Vicq’s MIDAN Museum and the prestigious Max Fourny collection.
In addition to Le Chocolat de Poche, literary and gourmet chocolate, her works have been added to many other products, all made in France, such as the Art Puzzles Michèle Wilson, Guy de Jean umbrellas, Place des Arts and Muzéo, the European leader in art reproductions.
Fabienne Delacroix is a member of the Maison des Artistes since 1996 and the Taylor Foundation since 2019.
